THESIS PROJECT - FASHION MUSEUM COMPLEX

FASHION MUSEUM COMPLEX
Fashion designers create clothing culture by cutting and restructuring fabrics. Architects create buildings by dividing and combining spaces. San Francisco Fashion museum not only exhibits clothes to show the history of fashion, but also demonstrate the whole process from the initial soft fabric to the final clothing through cutting and combining technique with the architectural language. The building presents the process of the mental journey of the fashion designer: first, as they start to wander freely through the spaces without any guidance to unexpectedly find inspiration (clothing history museum). Second, “the intersection”, the visitor explores various combinations of elements (contact forum), and then they carefully reach the final creative process (creative studio). The Atrium T stage breaks the norm of the traditional T stage and the audience. Stairs and T stage rotates in the opposite direction to each other. People can enjoy the full exhibition and visitors can also board the T stage, experiencing the changes of roles in this architectural space.
